HEALTHY WHILE TRAVELING


Half way to Thailand after one flight from Tenerife yesterday and over 20 hours of travel waiting today! Stockholm - Bangkok - Koh Samui - Koh Phangan!

I find it important eating healthy and I really wanna keep it clean and healthy when I'm on vacation, so this is my tips to stay healthy while travelling!

1. Prepare your travel-snacks!

Airplane and airport food are often processed, high sugar and gluten and expensive - food. Bring your own snacks and veggies. I love to bring something salty, my favorite right now is roasted salted almonds.

Something hydrating, as cucumber (as you can't pass liquids when you're taking a flight, cucumber is a great way to stay hydrated and the kids usually love it) carrots, red/green pepper cut into sticks, avocado, bananas and other fruits.

And something with high energy, Fruit/Nuts bars, nut butter, dehydrated fruit, dates, raw nuts and seeds are also packed with energy and easy to bring.

2. Drink a lot of water!

Stay hydrated! Simple as that. We all know that the humidity in aircraft is very low and we become easily dehydrated, choose water and aviod alcoholic beverages. And If you wanna go one step further, bring some chia seeds, bee pollen or spirulina, add it into your water and you will have a vitamin/protein/mineral water in no time! It’s also good for your digestion (the last thing I want having ‘stomach-troubles´ when I’m travelling)

3. Be conscious!

Ignore all fastfood they sell in the airports as pastry, muffins, white bread etc. Remind yourself that your superfood gives you so much more energy! (and you don’t want to make long travels with a ´wheat-belly´) ;)

4. Research!

When you arrive to your destination (or before you go), make some research where to go for good foods and healthy juices, if you’re in a exotic place, eat as much fresh fruit and coconuts as you can!

5. Stay active!

Powerwalk, go running, swim in the sea, do yoga, go climbing, dive, surf or whatever your place invites you to do. Activating your body gives you so much more endorphins than just lying in a sunbed charching your body with vitamin D, the sunlight will reach you anyway!

And for sure, don't forget the 80/20 thinking, leave some space for leeways if you want to!
